Jurong Island is a major player in Singapore’s regional value proposition and serves as a crucial center for petrochemicals and specialty chemicals. Launched in 2000 by then-Prime Minister Mr. Goh Chok Tong, the island has drawn more than 50 billion Singapore dollars in investments. It hosts leading companies like Exxon Mobil, Shell, and Cargill. In just over twenty years, Jurong Island has boosted Singapore to become the world’s seventh-largest exporter of chemical products.
